Two from Centreville were taken to an area hospital earlier this week after a woman allegedly was under the influence before crashing and coming to rest on the side of Kings Highway, according to a spokesperson from the sheriff's office.

Deputies were called shortly before 4:50 a.m. on Tuesday, June 18 to the 1300 block of Kings Highway, where there were reports of a vehicle that had gone off road after crossing over the median, rolling over, and coming to a stop on the side of the road.

The roof had been caved in, airbags were deployed, and debris was scattered everywhere, according to investigators, among which was an empty box of Twisted Tea.

According to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office, the driver, a 20-year-old, attempted to lie and stated "nobody" was driving. She was also found to have a revoked license due to a previous DUI.

Both the driver and 21-year-old passenger were taken to an area hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. Charges for driving under the influence, DUI maiming, driving with a revoked license, and reckless driving were obtained for the driver.
